Gold Coast City Gallery

Gold Coast City Gallery is one of Australia's most prominent public Regional Galleries and presents a lively program of exhibitions and events within The Arts Centre building and beyond into the parkland of the Cultural Precinct. The Gallery also plays a leading role in supporting local cultural practice, working closely with artists and the community to develop curatorial projects that draw out contemporary creative responses to the city and the region. See our resource list for more information on some of these publications and projects.

The Gallery is home to two significant art prizes; the Gold Coast Art Prize and The Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award. Works acquired from these Awards enhance the Gallery’s holdings of contemporary art. In coming years the Gallery will seek to support local creatives through new initiatives such as Gold Coast Contemporary; and undertake a rebranding of the International Ceramic Art Award as the Gold Coast Ceramic Triennial.

The Gallery is currently embarking on a transition program in preparation for its’ move into new premises on the Cultural Precinct site in early 2018. Watch this space as the Gallery evolves to present more exhibitions and to publish the collection on-line.
