Little ArtLab | Creative play for under 5s
Welcome to Little ArtLab, where under fives and their carers can make and learn as they play and sing!
On the second Wednesday of each month, the Gallery hosts guided, hands-on creative workshops responding to the exhibitions, ideas and collections of the Gold Coast City Gallery.
Please note all children must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings recommended.
Wed 11 Oct | 10-11am | Nature Play
cross-currents: island to mainland exhibiting artists Alicia Jones and Kiana Larkins take children to an exploratory world filled with natural surprises. Using ochre, sand, paper bark and shells, the artists share their creative skills with our new generation of young artists.
Wed 8 Nov | 10-11am | DIY Dress Ups
In this workshop we play with cotton fabric and tissue paper dying as we experiment with colours and styles. Afterwards little ones can strut their stuff on our play fashion runway. This public program supports the exhibition Coming Into Fashion: A Century of Photography at Conde Nast.
Wed 13 Dec | 10-11am | Paper Hats
In this workshop we experiment with scrunching, folding and gluing paper to make a fancy hat or fascinator.
Play all day!
Make a morning of it or enjoy a whole day out. Grab a coffee from the Arts Café, then head out to Evandale Lake behind The Arts Centre. There’s a gated playground for your little one to run off some energy!
