Permanent Positions

EVENT COORDINATOR

Due to an internal promotion, we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Coordinator to join our team!

This position is responsible for ensuring the organisation of in-house Events meet the standards and expectations of clients, both external and internal, of The Arts Centre Gold Coast management in relation to client liaison, contracts and catering services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning Event Aspects, such as venue, seating, dining and guest lists
  • Delegating event planning tasks to other staff members and departments where necessary
  • Maintaining a working relationship with vendors and clients
  • Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organising vendors
  • Demonstrating to clients strong knowledge of the venue and the venue possibilities
  • Coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers
  • Staying under budget while planning internal event specifications
  • Issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner, and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports
  • Communicating with the Marketing Department regarding advertisements and marketing materials
  • Creating sales opportunities for future events
  • General department administration support

SELECTION CRITERIA

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated practical experience in a similar Events environment with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated practical experience in the Hospitality Industry relating to Food & Beverage service, function sets, formats and concept development and functions advertising and promotion.
  • Advanced administration skills and computer literacy
  • Tertiary Qualifications (or equivalent) in a related field, such as Event Management would be highly regarded
  • QLD RSA Certification
  • Current First Aid Certification highly regarded

Marketing Coordinator – Full Time Contract until 30th June 2017

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is charged with the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategies that increase audience attendance to performances and events.
  • Develop, write and coordinate the publication of The Arts Centre’s promotional materials including electronic media, newsletters and handbooks in collaboration with all departmental stakeholders and external providers.
  • Monitor and collate budget information relevant to shows or events, keeping in line with the department budget and company policies and procedures.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the above:

  • Implement marketing and audience development strategies that result in an increase in income for venue hire and ticket sales.
  • Conduct research to identify service competitors to clearly identify The Arts Centre’s consolidated market position and competitor segmentation.
  • Write general and cinema plus relevant event email direct marketing and enews briefs.
  • Managing marketing options (Liaising with clients, booking ads, creating web pages, publishing ticket links, scheduling screens, sending media releases, scheduling social media, managing budgets etc.)
  • Ensure that all marketing strategies, facility presentation and key services are consistent with the Centre’s corporate image.
  • Assist in the development, implementation & coordination of the 2017 Gold Coast Film Festival’s marketing strategies.
  • Website general maintenance.
  • Networking with local media outlets to maximise free publicity opportunities.
  • Managing Zendesk enquires
  • Managing in-centre stock control and weekly library mail outs
  • Manage charity requests
  • CRM reporting
  • Develop internal research strategies to identify customer trends, accurate service usage levels and client segmentation

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • A proven track record in preparing promotional material such as newsletters, website and other relevant medium.
  • A proven ability to establish media networks and maintain a quality database for the purposes of marketing.
  • A tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Marketing / Media would be highly regarded
  • A passion for culture, entertainment and the arts

Chef de Partie – Full Time

POSITION OVERVIEW
• We are Looking for 2 enthusiastic Chef de Parties’ to join our team working in the busy Arts Café
• Must enjoy cooking and able to work with others and also unsupervised
• Successful applicant will be working under experienced chefs cooking high quality diverse range of food in an environment that strives to reach high standards
• Great opportunity to expand your skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Managing the day to day operations of the kitchen with the Executive Chef
• Managing budgeted KPI’s
• Development and costing of menus for café operations and functions
• Ensure a safe work environment
• Stock control
• Ensure all requirements in relation to hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to
• Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The incumbent will be able to demonstrate skills in:
1. Previous experience as a chef (minimum of 2 years)
2. A high level of organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi task
3. Must be reliable, energetic and be able to work under pressure
4. Must be able to work both day and evening shifts across a seven day rotating roster
5. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Queensland acts and regulations including HACCP in principal.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Trade Certificates or Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery;
• Food Safety Certificate.
