Gold Coast Cultural Precinct
The Gold Coast Cultural Precinct at Evandale, due to be opened to the public in 2017, will create a focal point, a meeting place that will be a prime social destination for locals and tourists. Like Melbourne’s Federation Square or New York City’s Times Square, The Gold Coast Cultural Precinct will become the place where people come together to engage with arts, culture and each other.
The current 16.9 hectare site at Evandale will be transformed into an array of contemporary buildings and structures devoted to civic, cultural and public use over the next ten to 15 years. The Gold Coast Cultural Precinct will include an arts museum, performing arts centre, Artscape enhancements at Evandale Lake, an arts hotel and dining and retail.
